PTO Annual Meeting – Wednesday

Please join us at the last PTO meeting of the school year.

The 2017/18 budget will be presented and the incoming leadership will be brought forward for a vote of the PTO community.  If you would like to become more involved in the strategic aspect of the Bigelow PTO, helping direct and manage the overall program for 2017/18, you are encourage to join the board in one of the open positions.

All members of the Bigelow Middle School community are part of the PTO and are invited. Hope to see you on the 7th!

New Student-Run Cookie Business

Three Newton South students, Charlie Mirabile, Cameron Gilchrist, and Greg Umansky have recently started a cookie business called Newton Cookie Service. They deliver fresh homemade cookies every Sunday to their subscribers, both traditional recipes and original ones, one recipe per week! It costs $12.00 for one batch, and there is no commitment or minimum subscription time. This Sunday, June 11th will be their second week of deliveries, and the recipe will be chocolate dipped sugar cookies!

If you or someone you know is interested or would like to try it out, email them at newtoncookieservice@gmail.com with your name, delivery address, and whether you want weekly or biweekly cookies!

Summer Basketball Camp: Newton

ASA Hoops is celebrating it’s 20th year offering camps in Newton and surrounding communities. The camps are for boys and girls ages 7-16 and offer a positive environment in which to improves one’s skills. Camps are offered from June 26th to August 24th and can be found at: www.asahoops.com/camps.

8th Grade Car Wash and Bake Sale – Thursday

Is your car getting a little dirty?  Let the 8th grade Bigelow class get it cleaned up for you before summer vacation!

Thursday, June 8, 3 – 5 pm, in the Bigelow Parking Lot.  Cost: $10.  

And if you are a little hungry, there will also be a bake sale.

This is a fun event for 8th grade students and all proceeds go towards 8th grade year end events including scholarships for the cultural trips.

~ 11:30am dismissal – to make space for the Stepping Up 5th Graders

Grade 7
~ 2:45pm dismissal – Regular Schedule

Grade 8
~ 11:30am – 2:30pm – step up to Newton North High School
~ 2:45pm dismissal – from Bigelow Middle School

The usual bus routes will run again for 7th and 8th graders at 2:45pm.  A flyer is attached .
