Be sure to join us this Friday for our first Skate Night fundrasier of the year! Rock N’ Skate Night at Warrior Ice Arena is always a fun event and a great fundraiser for Bigelow.
When: Friday, December 1st, 8:30-10 pm (Skating is between 9-9:50 pm)
Where: Warrior Ice Arena – 90 Guest Street, Brighton MA 02135
Admission: $15 – Includes Ice Skate Rental (part is donated to the PTO)
Please note: This event is open to the general public. Bigelow parents always join. Caregivers are responsible for their child’s admission and transport. Families are welcome to come join the fun. There is a gallery area for parents to gather and watch if they do not want to skate.
The Parent/Educator Collaborative (PEC) is hosting a community forum on Thursday, November 30 at 8pm via Zoom to discuss the Newton Teachers Association (NTA) contract negotiations.

The Bigelow Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is one cause that doesn’t get more personal: our kids’ education. As parents and guardians of Bigelow students, we are all members of the PTO, an organization that is well worth supporting.

Please join us for an Ice Skaking Fundraiser at Warrior Ice Area on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 9:00-9:50 pm. Tickets are $15 (includes skate rental) and will be sold at the event.

Visit the ShopLast week Bigelow students discussed White Bird by R.J. Palacio and participated in several activities as part of the One School, One Book Program.
Students began the day by identifying and discussing “Moments of Greatness” within the book. Moments of Greatness is acknowledging an act of kindness or when someone stands up in support of someone or against an injustice. Next, students heard from guest speakers who survived the Holocaust, Dr. Hans Fisher and Werner Salinger. Finally, students were given an opportunity to reflect and debrief with guided question.
Thank you to everyone involved in organizing and planning this event for our students, especially Ms. Guzzi, for so thoughtfully putting together this learning experience!
