Shanah Tovah to all in our Bigelow Family celebrating Rosh Hashanah on Monday.
The Bigelow PTO would like to welcome you all to Bigelow and the new school year. Below are a few dates to get on your calendars to start the school year.
NO SCHOOL – Rosh Hashanah, Mon. Sept 14th
All School Picnic – Wed. September 16th, 5:30pm – 7pm at Burr Park. This year we hope to have two food trucks so we avoid the long lines we have had in past years. If the weather does not cooperate, we will move the Picnic indoors to the cafeteria and the gym.
Grade 8 Car Wash and Bake Sale – Fri. September 18 from 3pm – 4:30pm Bigelow Parking Lot (We need an 8th grade parent or two to run this, if interested please email us at bigelowbulldog@gmail.com)
Grade 6 Parent Potluck – Fri. September 18 – 7:00pm – 9:30pm, location to follow (We need an 6th grade family to host this, if interested please email us at bigelowbulldog@gmail.com)
A comprehensive school calendar can be found on both the Bigelow PTO’s and the Bigelow School’s websites.
If you have any questions regarding the above events or any other items, please contact us at bigelowbulldog@gmail.com .
We have tentatively scheduled the 6th grade parent potluck for Friday Sept 18. We need a 6th grade family to host this. We are hoping to have this event early in the school year to give 6th grade parents an opportunity to get to know one another.
The PTO helps with all communications. Please email us at bigelowbulldog@gmail.com if you are interested or have any questions.
The 8th grade car wash / bake sale is scheduled for Friday, Sept 18th after school. We need 2-3 8th grade parents to run this event. This is a fun event for 8th grade students and all proceeds go towards 8th grade year end events including scholarships for the cultural trips to NYC and Quebec City. The PTO helps with communications and the school recruits the student volunteers. Please email the bigelowbulldog@gmail.com if you are interested.
An informational meeting for all students interested in joining cross country will be held on Thursday 9/10 after school in the Bigelow Library. Cross country is open to all students (including 6th graders). Everyone makes the team, and no experience is necessary. It is a great way to meet new friends, get into shape, and enjoy friendly competition. Important handouts will be given out at the meeting. Please check Coach Summa’s website for more information.
