Soup and Supper Stroll – Please consider hosting

Please consider hosting  a dinner (or the appetizer or dessert party) at our 7th Annual Soup and Supper Stroll – Saturday, November 14.  Have a specialty dish?  Share it with other Bigelow parents / guardians and teachers.  We are looking for people to serve Soup and Supper to groups of 6 or more adults in their homes.  This evening is a really great way to meet other Bigelow parents and one of the Bigelow community’s favorite events.

The evening starts with appetizers at a Bigelow family’s home with everyone attending the “Stroll”.  Here you will find out the name and address of your Soup and Supper host and learn who the other guests are at your supper venue.  After supper, we will reconvene at a surprise location for coffee and dessert.

More information on sign-up will follow in October.

Interested in hosting?

– want to host but don’t want to cook?  – want to cook but not at your house?

All this is possible – please contact us and we will help you make it happen!  Dinner hosts just need to provide soup and a supper dish – no need to make appetizers and desserts.  Thank you!!!!

Creative Arts and Sciences (CASC) Update

Crocodile River Music’s “TRINIDAD 2 TIMBUKTU” is coming to Bigelow on October 7th!
Trinidad 2 Timbuktu is an interactive musical-geography lesson for students of all ages. Expert musicians take the audience on a journey of thousands of miles and hundreds of years. It begins in Africa, with the music and rhythms that originated there in tribal and ritual drumming. From there, we travel around the world, exploring the calypso, reggae, flamenco, Brazilian, and Afro-Cuban music and dance styles that have blossomed from these African musical roots.  Our musicians will introduce listeners to native instruments and the various languages that mark each genre. They will demonstrate how regional dialects have found their way into the original African language of rhythm and song. Through lecture and discussion, song and dance performance, and opportunities for audience participation, this program invites listeners to see how our very wide world is, in some ways, a very small one indeed.
This program (and many others) is made possible by the Creative Arts and Sciences Committee, funded by your PTO contributions.
