Free Badminton for Kids in grades 7-11!
Circus Smirkus’ 2014 Big Top Tour Presents 6 Shows. Join Circus Smirkus, the international youth circus, July 25th – 27th at Gore Place in Waltham. Thirty performers ages 10 – 18, including two local youth, perform in the 2014 production of “Anchors Away for Atlantis.” Tickets and information at www.smirkus.org.
Calling all Metro Boston area girl basketball players or girls who want to learn basketball, age 6-18. All skill levels welcome. Come play in a fun and safe environment.
Coached by former NSHS varsity all-star player and life-long Newton resident Chari Cohen Oliveira, and high school coach Jazmyne Roulhac, a former 4 year recruit at Tabor Academy. This is a girls only 3v3 league and clinics will be held at the newly renovated indoor court at the BYCF Thomas M. Menino Center in nearby Roslindale.
Through hard work, fundamentals and fun, they aim to foster a competitive attitude while inspiring young girls to love the sport in a respectful, safe and positive environment. Player placement evaluations will be held June 23rd and June 30th. The 3v3 league runs Monday nights 6:00-8:30 from July 14th – August 18th. Clinics will be Tuesday nights through August 19th, 7:00-7:45 for newer players, 7:45-8:30 for more experienced.

We are fortunate to have a nominating committee to help with the process for the following Board positions:Co-president
Work with other PTSO co-president and committee chairs to run Newton North PTSO. Strong organizational, people, and technical skills needed. Previous PTO experience is a plus, but not required. Time commitment: 10-15 hours per week.Programming Chair
Work with current chair and with co-presidents to determine PTSO meeting content and arrange logistics. Attend PTSO board meetings (every six weeks during the school year).TreasurerTreasurer responsibilities begin August 1st and extend through July 31st. Track income and expenses for all PTSO activities. Responsible for Massachusetts and federal non-profit filings. Learn and use state-of-the art membership software. Use Quicken and Excel to keep financial records. Interact with all PTSO committees and some teachers and Main Office staff.No experience necessary (current treasurer will help as needed) just a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
