Your Donations Make Our Students Better Writers

Dear Newton Schools Foundation Supporter:

By donating to Newton Schools Foundation, you can provide funds for even more teachers to participate in this unique professional development experience. For five decades NSF has provided private funding for educational programs that are difficult to address in the school department’s operating budget. Your donation enables NSF to fund:

  • Dynamic new curricula for all students.
  • Teacher training to ensure Newton educators use effective, up-to-date teaching practices.
  • Achievement gap programs and scholarships for low-income and minority students.

The programs, training, etc. span Newton’s diverse student population and impact all of Newton’s 12,000 students. When you give to Newton Schools Foundation you are ensuring that the Newton Public Schools continue to provide your child with the best education in this ever-changing teaching and learning environment.

Open your heart and home to an International Student

Needed:  a loving host family for an NSHS International Student. Host families provide a warm and supportive home and family environment and students become part of your family. A monthly stipend is offered to all host families.

One of our fantastic exchange students from China who attends Newton South needs a new host family from early January through June 2016 because his current family is moving to Boston. Here is a little about the boy from China:

He is a very mature and independent 16 year old who has a warm smile, enjoys laughing and meeting new people, is inquisitive, and spontaneous. At school he has excellent grades and plays on the basketball team. He is polite, engaged, and engaging and has made many American friends here in Newton.

If you can host this boy through June or even for a short term, please email claudetterowe.educatius@gmail.com or call her at 508 246 7028.
