Join for coffee and conversation and live music from 10:00 – 11:00 am, and then an animal show from Curious Critters from 11:00 – 12:00 noon. There will be class demonstrations and information about this historic building. This event is free and children of all ages, young and old, will enjoy it.

Green Newton’s Schools Connections meeting December 12th

Come to the next GN School Connections Group Meeting. The group provides a forum for parents, students and educators to promote sustainability in Newton’s schools. All are welcome to participate and share experiences and ideas.

Representatives of the group participate in discussions to improve food quality and sustainability in school cafeterias and are also advocating for more in-depth climate science to be taught in our schools, as well as setting up textile recycling collection containers outside of each school building.

Calling all music lovers for a fabulous festive treat – your most-loved holiday classics with a twist! Enjoy the incomparable Duke Ellington Nutcracker Suite and other big band favorites at the Swing’n Holidays Concert, featuring Essentially Ellington award-winning Newton South Jazz Ensemble students and alumni. Bring the family!

They’ll be serving hot chocolate, mulled cider and delicious snacks to spread a little extra seasonal cheer. Admission: $10.00 adults, $5.00 students, kids 8 and under come in free.

All proceeds will benefit the Newton Music Ambassadors Scholarship Fund!

Do you have a child that loves to sing and perform?

Join VOICES Boston children’s chorus for the 2019-2020 season! VOICES Boston focuses primarily on singing and music literacy, with an added emphasis on dance technique and drama performance. VOICES Boston changes the lives of children, building confidence, discipline, leadership and a love of music that will last a lifetime.

They have ensembles for singers grades K-8 and rehearse in Brookline. VOICES Boston singers perform a wide range of repertoire, from classical to world music, gospel to new music, and even present an opera each year.
