If you would like to pay by cash or check (payable to: Bigelow Middle School), please place payment in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and homeroom written on the front. Your child should give the envelope to their homeroom teacher.

Please join us tonight for this special PTO meeting on the Growth Mindset 7:00- 8:30 pm in the Bigelow cafeteria. Newton North Principal Jen Price and The NN High School Council will be doing an encore presentation of their December workshop providing a basic overview of Growth Mindset, interactive activities and a discussion of appropriate feedback. This discussion is based on the book Mindset by Carol Dweck.

This Thursday and Friday, April 30th & May 1, we are Dining for Dollars at Bertucci’s to support the Bigelow 8th grade field trips. Bring the attached flyer to the Newton Corner Bertucci’s at 275 Centre Street on either of these nights and Bigelow will receive 15% of any purchase. Join friends and family to eat and socialize Thursday with the whole family or consider treating yourself to a night out Friday in support of scholarships for Bigelow Students while the kids are at the dance. Dine-in, take-out, or order delivery. Please forward the attached flyer to local friends, colleagues and family, and post it on social media.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of the Bigelow parents, students, faculty and friends who turned out today to plant, trim, mulch, clean, paint, and water. The school looks great!! The main entry and the island are planted, the courtyard cleaned up, shrubs trimmed and plant beds mulched.
The team moved 14 cubic yards of loam and mulch, planted over 130 shrubs and perennials, collected over 20 bags of yard waste and collectively donated over 300 hours of time!!
A very special thank you to Andrew Hargens and Lex Van der Ploeg for organizing the day, to Tami Ireland for leading the planting of the island, to Joe Raso for working with us to get the plants, and to Audrey Weissborn and Kathy Marsh for their ongoing care of the Bigelow grounds and gardens.

Project 351 Clothing Drive to benefit Cradles to Crayons: Eighth graders Iman Sayeed, Sarah Rosenstrach, and Ele Whi are organizing a clothing drive at Bigelow from Apr 6 – Apr 10. Clean out your closets and donate those gently used items to a wonderful, local organization (www.cradlestocrayons.org). Able to do a little more? New socks, underwear, and pajamas are especially appreciated.
STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AFTER SCHOOL ON FRIDAY APR 10th TO HELP SORT THE DONATED CLOTHING.
