Buy a Book and Honor a Teacher, Staff Member or Student

The Bigelow Library is a vibrant and exciting learning commons. Students visit daily to find a good book to read. The Buy a Book Fund Drive is a wonderful way to meet this demand so that the library can maintain its vibrancy.

If you are planning on honoring a graduate or recognizing a staff member at the end of this year, please consider donating a book to the library. A nameplate honoring the student/teacher, and recognizing the donor, will be placed inside a new book. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

Thank you from the Teachers for the Teacher Appreciation Tea

Please know how much your effort goes noticed and appreciated when you host our tea party.  The lovely touches, such as the flowers and colorful paper products, bring so much joy!

You outdid yourselves yet again!  Thank you so much for the delicious treats – they do make us feel appreciated!

YOU ARE AMAZING!  Thank you so much for always “treating” us so well with such yummy “treats” and beautiful flowers!  We appreciate it so much.

Thank you for the delicious and abundant spread of treats.  We are always grateful for your support and consideration.

Thank you for the tea time desserts and treats.  They were lovely and made us fee very appreciated.

The food was all so delicious!  The perfect motivation for the end of the year.  Thank you so much for always thinking of us!

Thank you for remembering us and showing us your appreciation!

Just a note of thanks for the PTO support for Bigelow teachers.  The PTO is such an essential group for the parent community.  I appreciate your presence.

Thank you to all for a Successful Car Wash

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Bigelow bake sale, car wash and raffle on Friday! A lot of cars got washed and a lot of treats were eaten. Fun was had by all and we raised more than $825 for eighth grade activities and scholarships. Special thanks to all the eighth grade volunteers and to Ms. Holman and Mr. Harrison, who washed some cars themselves!

Thanks to parents Heather Mehra, Miriam Alandydy, Leslie Williams, Liz Haas, Stacy Schwartz, Beth Coomber, Sarah Volkman Cooke, and all those who baked and brought treats! Thank you!!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE consider serving on the 2015/2016 PTO Board

PTO Board – looking for new members, please consider joining today!

Would you like to become more involved in the strategic aspect of the Bigelow PTO, helping direct and manage the overall program for 2015/16?  Six of our current Board Members have expressed a willingness to continue on the board into 2015/16.  But we always need more people to become involved!!  All Bigelow parents and guardians, including those of incoming 6th graders, are encourage to join the board.  The proposed slate of 2015/16 Board members will be voted on at our final PTO meeting of the year on June 17th.  Serving on the Board is a great way to meet other Bigelow Parents and help out at your child’s school.
Co-President(s) or Vice-President(s)
This person or persons would be working with the existing Co-Presidents, Carolyn Judge and Jacquie Arbuckle in their final year at Bigelow, in either a Co-President role or a Vice-President role with a view to becoming Co-President of the PTO in 2016/17.  This is incredibly important this year so we have a smooth transition from the 2015/16 to the 2016/17 school year.
The PTO Co-Presidents work closely with the Principal to plan, budget and manage the overall PTO calendar and events. They offer support and guidance to the Committee Chairs, as needed, coordinate communications and attend monthly PTO Council meetings, quarterly Bigelow PTO Board meetings and General PTO meetings.
Co-Treasurer
We need a co-treasurer whose primary responsibilities would include the following:

Monthly check book reconciliation and tracking of expenses and income
Develop budget with Co Presidents and provide monthly updates
Matching gift paperwork
Secretary of State annual filing in October
Please contact bigelowbulldog@gmail.com if you are interested or have any questions.
