Summer basketball camp

The Walter McCarty Camp tour is coming to Newton for two big weeks, July 28th – Aug 1st and Aug 18th – 22nd. This basketball camp is for boys and girls ages 7 to 17. Don’t miss out on a chance to rub elbows with current Celtics assistant coach McCarty and other special Celtic guests.

“It’s a Party”

The Child Assault Prevention Program (CAP), run through the Newton Community Service Center (NCSC), helps keep kids safe by teaching them their rights to be Safe Strong & Free!

CAP has been endorsed by PTO’s around Newton for over 20 years. They teach in 14 out of the 15 elementary schools in Newton. Recently they received a $10,000 matching donation and the goal of their fundraising event is to raise enough money to match the $10,000 and to raise more awareness for this important program.

“It’s a Party” (Party for a purpose) is going to be a fun night out of dancing and socializing at the Social Restaurant and Bar in Newton. There is one song request submitted with every ticket purchase. Everyone will get to take a CD home with the night’s songs on it.Please go to www.capfundraiser2014.com to make donations.

Part time nanny needed

A professional couple with a 4 year old child in Newton seeks a part-time nanny to work on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, and on Tuesday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The ideal candidate should someone with SPEd background (aide, BT, ST, etc). Must be able to drive and maintain a clean driving record. The Sunday School for Jewish Studies Open Enrollment

Once a week Hebrew School for Grades 1 – 7 and once a month Pre-K / Kindergarten class and free family toddler program.

The Sunday School for Jewish Studies is now accepting registrations for the 2014-15 school year. They are an independent school, located at the Oak Hill Middle School in Newton, which provides a Jewish education for children and families with diverse traditions of Jewish observance. Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation is available but not required, and students may enter in any grade. Interfaith and nontraditional families are welcome. Highlands After-School Program

The Highlands After-School Program is enrolling now for the 2014-15 school year –
just for middle school kids, serves children attending Brown and Oak Hill Middle Schools.

Activities include sports, arts, cooking, science, homework, field trips, community service and team building. It’s a place to go and hang with friends, enjoy activities, and get a head start on homework.
