Bigelow Holiday Giving this Season

Do you want to honor that a special teacher this holiday season?  Do you want to help Bigelow purchase much needed technology for our children?  Here are ways you can help!

  1. Donate.  For a $15 donation, the Bigelow librarian will purchase a book and attach a plate with the honoree’s name.  Letters to the honorees will be sent informing them of the donation.  It’s so easy, go to www.bigelowpto.organd click on Buy A Book.
    • You can also make a general donation to the PTO, the Technology Plan or Cyndi-Dailey Smith Scholarship fund if you prefer through the Bigelow PTO website.
  2. Visit.  The new Bigelow Store is now open and has Bigelow items to purchase for you, friends and family members http://www.cafepress.com/Bigelowgear.  A percentage of sales go to our school.
  3. Volunteer.  Help us this holiday season by donating your time.  Our next event is BIGELOW’S BIG NIGHT to take place on Saturday February 9th .  Our annual kickoff meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 11th at the home of Anna and Rick Leblanc, please email Anna for more details annaleblanc@comcast.net or call 617-549-1970.  We NEED YOU!  One hour or ten hours!

Please note the School Committee Policy for Gifts to Staff and Teachers prohibits teachers from receiving  gifts directly from individual parents.  The state of Massachusetts ethics law also has strict restrictions prohibiting state employees (teachers are included) from receiving gifts.  In order to comply with both of these policies, we suggest parents use one of the above ways to show appreciation to teachers while staying true to the spirit of these laws.
