Art Classes for Children, Adults at Arsenal Ctr for the Arts

The Arsenal Center for the Arts begins the new year with an exciting program of winter art classes and workshops for adults and children beginning the weeks of January 12 and January 19. The full listing and schedule of course offerings is available online.

Adult offerings include a range of media and techniques for both beginning and more advanced students, with both morning and evening classes: Art Sampler, Acrylics, Expressive Watercolor, Monoprints, Ceramics, Drawing, Folk Assemblage, Poetry through the Four Seasons, Jewelry-Crafting and more.

Children’s classes (offered for four age ranges through teens) include Clay for Kids, Let’s Paint, Mixed-Media, Comics & Cartoons, Wheelthrowing, Intensive Drawing and more. Fun Parent/Child workshops for ages 2+ are also available.

Classes are held at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street in Watertown, with free parking and access to public transportation. Scholarships and Membership discounts are available. To register online, visit the Center’s website or call 617-923-0100, ext. 8309.

Enrollment Open at Wellesley Theatre Project

The Wellesley Theatre Project is enrolling now for classes and performance opportunities for children in grades K-12.

Free BADMINTON for kids in grade 6-12 at the Hyde Community Gym, 90 Lincoln St. Newton Highlands. Stop by and play. No registration needed. Bring friends and join the fun!

Just Think: Teens Making Smart Choices

Newton Community Farm

The winter education program at Newton Community Farm is now open for registration. There is a range of programs for adults, children and families covering gardening topics, cooking and even candle making. For more information and to register please visit the website at www.newtoncommunityfarm.org/education.

Music Lessons

Support Newton robotics

The LigerBots, Newton’s award-winning, competitive, high school FIRST® robotics team, will be having a fundraiser during the entire month of January at Whole Foods on Walnut Street at Four Corners. Team members will be present during after-school hours to talk about the team. The goal is to raise $1000 during the month of January. Your donation will help the team buy parts to build its 2015 robot and will help defray the high costs of entering and traveling to competitions. Please support the LigerBots by purchasing a donation coupon at the register to help them reach their goal for this fundraiser.
