December School Vacation Program – December 27 – 30 & January 2
It’s like summer camp in the winter for children in grades K – 6. Located at the Lower Falls Community Center, children can participate in sports, arts and crafts, inside games, outside games, gym activities, and daily special events. December 27 – 30, 2011 and January 2, 2012 from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (extended day available to 5:30 PM).

The New Art Center will hold its Faculty Holiday Show & Sale on Saturday December 3, 10am-5pm at 61 Washington Park, Newtonville. Meet and see the artwork of 35 New Art Center Faculty working in a variety of media, from ceramics, to painting, to jewelry, fiber arts and more. Browse and shop for original artwork just in time for the holidays and learn more about the New Art Center’s Winter Art Classes! Theatre Ink, Newton North’s award-winning theatre program, proudly presents “The Cripple of Inishmaan” a heartbreaking yet hilarious dark comedy by one of Ireland’s most celebrated playwrights.

Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland in 1934, “The Cripple of Inishmaan” is an irresistible tale filled with a host of charming characters, plots, and twists. A Hollywood director arrives to film the “Man of Iran” in neighboring Inishmaan. The one person who wants to be in the film more than anybody is young Cripple Billy, if only to break away from the bitter tedium of his daily life. Martin McDonough, the Tony award-winning playwright, has created a masterpiece of must-see theatre that is eccentric, honest and brilliantly funny. Directed by Charlie Beers and Graham Techler.
