All students will be dismissed at 11:30 AM.

The Super Supper Stroll – a festive adult evening of food, fun and conversation, is one of the most popular fundraising events at Bigelow. Parents/guardians and teachers/staff arrive at the home of one of our volunteer hosts to begin the evening with appetizers and to find out their dinner destinations. Dinners for smaller groups (typically of 6-12 diners) are hosted in the homes of several other volunteers. The evening ends with the entire group coming together once again at another volunteer host’s home for dessert.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, November 5th and sign-up information for dinner guests will be posted soon.

First, we need HOSTS and CHEFS for the evening!

• Host the large group for appetizers and kickoff
• Host a smaller group (specify size) and cook dinner
• Host a smaller group but do not want to wear the chef’s hat
• Cook a delicious meal but cannot host
• Host the large group for dessert and closing of the festivities

Jessica Gilmartin has graciously volunteered to spearhead the effort of planning and coordinating the Super Supper Stroll again this year. Additional volunteers are welcome and needed! If you are interested in helping, please email the PTO at the above address.

This is a wonderful, low-key, no-stress opportunity to meet with other 6th grade parents and build a community for the next 3 years of middle school!

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our many parent and staff volunteers (including Mr. Harrison, Ms. Ahern – the new 8th grade counselor, the car wash/bake sale parent-coordinators – Frieda Dwek, Andrea Katsenes, Lisa LeRoy, Beth Coomber), the talented bakers (who sent in a dazzling array of truly delicious treats), and the many enthusiastic 8th graders – the Car Wash and Bake Sale was a great success, raising more than $600 for 8th grade activities!

Thank you to everyone who helped and to everyone who brought their cars and their sweet teeth to support our kids!

Ellen Waldorf has graciously opened her home to host the potluck dinner on Friday, September 30th at 7 PM. This is a fun, relaxed, adults only, BYOB potluck event and a great way to meet other 6th grade parents! We will post/send a reminder with parking details/instructions next week.

Bring your dirty car, your “sweet tooth” and your neighbors to support our 8th graders.

It’s not too late to  sign up to send treats for the bake sale and/or help on Friday.

The potluck has been tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 30th! Please consider opening your home to host fellow 6th grade parents for a relaxed, adults only party. The event is a potluck, so you will not be expected to cook and serve food. The PTO will handle all communications, RSVP, coordination of potluck.

Please  sign up to send treats for the bake sale and/or supervise the students on Friday 9/23 between 2:30 and 5 PM. Based on prior years’ experience this is a fun event not just for the kids but for the adult volunteers too!

The weather might get a little damp, but that won’t dampen the Bigelow spirit – we will be having fun, rain or shine!

When: Wednesday, September 14th from 5:30 to 7 PM

Where: Burr Park (cafeteria and/or gym in case of rain)

Food: Chik Chak food truck and Zack’s Ice Cream truck

We will have outdoor play equipment as well as board and card games (in case of rain) and a great time will be had by all.

We still need volunteers to bake some treats and/or help at the car wash/sale.

When: Friday, September 23rd from 2:30 to 5 PM (car wash 3-4:30)
