You still have time to buy/order your KidStuff Coupon Books and help raise funds to support Bigelow events. Family-friendly coupon books are $25.00 each, and offer great savings at Macy’s, Sears, Dick’s, Michaels, Bed Bath & Beyond, A.C. Moore, Clarks, Gymboree, H&M, Famous Footware, Payless, JP Licks and many more! With the holiday season fast approaching these coupon books can make great gifts or provide incredible savings for you. The coupons are valid through December 2017! In addition to the Massachusetts book, there are editions for Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, which you can order through the PTO.

6th grade parents – a coupon book, money collection envelope, and order form were sent home with your child last week. To purchase, please put a check (payable to the Bigelow PTO) in the money collection envelope and return to your child’s teacher by Wednesday November 30th. You can keep the book sent home.

If you do not wish to purchase the book, please return the book to the school by Wed Nov 30th. This is not a sample book to keep.

7th and 8th grade parents – an order form was sent home with your child last week. If you wish to purchase a coupon book(s), please complete the order form, place your check ($25 x # books ordered, payable to the Bigelow PTO) and the order form in the money collection envelope, and return to your child’s teacher by Wed Nov 30th.

The once in a lifetime event for every Bigelow 8th grader is just around the corner! Which cluster will prevail in the spectacular game of flag football that will take place at Burr Park starting at 9:30 on the morning of Wednesday, November 23rd? Look for the results in an upcoming newsletter… or better yet, come support your favorite team and be the first to know!

The PTO will be selling pizza and drinks after the Turkey Bowl at 11:00 in the cafeteria.  Large slices are $2 each.  All proceeds will benefit the 8th grade year end activities fund. We need 8th grade parent/guardian volunteers to help sell the pizza! Please click here to sign up.

There are myriad opportunities and lots of flexibility – whether you are able to come to an event or send off a few emails during a break in your busy day, every bit of effort helps and any amount of time you can contribute to support our children and their school is invaluable!

• Coupon Book Fundraiser Coordinator(s) – Marcia Heron and [Your Name Here] — KidStuff is a great collection of coupons for many local stores, restaurants, venues and attractions, which many (if not most!) Bigelow families already patronize. Each coupon book that the PTO sells will bring money directly into Bigelow and each family buying a coupon book will recoup the price of the book after using just 1 or 2 coupons and will continue enjoying the great savings through December 2017!

• Grade-Cluster Parent/Guardian Volunteers – [Your Name Here] — If you are familiar with the concept of a “homeroom parent” then think of this as the Bigelow version. We need 2-3 parents/guardians in each cluster to be community leaders by disseminating important information, rallying support, coordinating events and activities.

The updated Bigelow community directory will be available online and in print in the coming weeks. Please go to the Directory page on the PTO website to add/confirm/change your information.

Please note, the Bigelow directory (similar to some and unlike some other schools in the district) is an OPT-IN directory. This means your information will NOT be in the directory unless you sign up on the Bigelow PTO website (the PTO does not pre-populate the directory with data for all families obtained from NPS). We have had some discussions regarding whether we should continue to keep the directory as opt-in or make it opt-out (all families are automatically entered and will need to request to be removed).
