Our teachers and staff members do so much for our kids throughout the year. They teach them invaluable skills, instill them with knowledge and a love of learning, and serve as intellectual role models.

So let’s say a proper thank you with a proper English tea — Bigelow-style. This year’s annual staff appreciation tea takes place on Tuesday, June 6 at 2:00 pm.

We are looking for volunteers to provide finger sandwiches, cakes, pastries, crumpets (whatever they are), fruit salad and any other delectables that go well with tea. We also need volunteers to help set up and clean up. Set up is at 12:45 and clean up is at 3:00.

All items may be dropped off the morning of the tea in the teacher’s lunchroom or put in the refrigerator there. Please drop off items no later than 12:30pm. It is most helpful if items are brought in a disposable container.

PTO Spring Annual Meeting

An orientation for all incoming freshman student athletes that are interested in playing sports (for any of the three seasons) will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 6:30 pm in the exhibition gym. Come and meet the Athletic Administration Staff and Coaches.

Is your car getting a little dirty?  Let the 8th grade Bigelow class get it cleaned up for you before summer vacation!

Thursday, June 8, 3 – 5 pm, in the Bigelow Parking Lot.  Cost: $10.  

And if you are a little hungry, there will also be a bake sale.

This is a fun event for 8th grade students and all proceeds go towards 8th grade year end events including scholarships for the cultural trips.

~ 11:30am dismissal – to make space for the Stepping Up 5th Graders

~ 2:45pm dismissal – from Bigelow Middle School

The usual bus routes will run again for 7th and 8th graders at 2:45pm.  A flyer is attached .

When you buy a book through this website (Bound to Stay Bound Books), your donation pays for a book bound in a way to increase the lifespan of the book, and for a donor name plate placed in the book for the person you are honoring with your purchase. Help keep the Bigelow Library independent reading collection relevant, interesting, educational, and fun for all our students by purchasing a book today! It is hard to believe that soon our 8th graders will be graduating Bigelow!

Over the summer we automatically remove all 8th grade information from both the PTO mailing list and the Bigelow Directory. The information in the directory will be passed along to Newton North High School,.

This is a good time to update your household contact information, so it’s correctly forward to Newton North and ready for next year if you still have children at Bigelow. But please do not change your children’s grade yet nor remove the 8th grader from either list at this point or you may miss important end of the year information.

The 8th grade will be holding a Car Wash and Bake Sale on Thursday June 8th from 3pm to 5pm.  This is a fun event for the 8th grade students and all proceeds will go towards funding 8th grade year end events!

We need parent volunteers to help supervise the car wash, to sell baked goods, and to BAKE!

On April 30th, at NewtonServes Day, dozens of volunteers worked hard at Bigelow, building a fence, spreading tons of mulch, pruning and raking dozens of bags of brush, and in general sprucing up the grounds and entrance to the school.
