Summer activity for Children

If you are looking for a fun, enriching activity for your toddler this summer, there are still some spaces open in the Summer Time for Partners. Art & Music classes with experienced teachers, for children 18 months to 4 years, accompanied by an adult. The classes take place at Franklin Elementary School, 125 Derby Street, from June 30th – August 8th, 9:30 – 11:15 am. Pick Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Your child will have fun learning and making new friends.

Summer Camp Information Night
There’s nothing like summer camp at the Y. One session or the whole summer. Indoors and out. On their own or in a group. Archery to arts, canoeing to cannonballs, with the West Suburban YMCA your kids will have an amazing experience, all in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.

Registration for After School Programs at the Y for the 2015-16 School Year is Open

Creative Arts Programs at the Y
Want to learn an instrument or join a band?! The West Suburban YMCA Center for the Creative Arts (YCCA) offers contemporary lessons and classes on many different instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, piano, voice, as well as music production. Lifeguard Training Class being offered at the West Suburban YMCA

Etiquette Classes Spring and Summer sessions

The 6-day and 8-week long etiquette classes for grades 2-12 cover topics such as improving social and communication skills, projecting confidence, combating shyness, strengthening self-esteem and leadership skills, navigating friendships, resolving conflict, understanding social cues, basic manners and table manners, and more.

February and April Break Camp

Now Enrolling For February, April, and Summer Break! All classes will be held at the studio in Wellesley Square, next to the Boloco!

Join the staff of Wellesley Theatre Project for a three-day workshop including a master class in Auditioning, Scene Study, and Musical Theatre. Students will leave with audition techniques, an understanding of how to approach a scene, and learn a dance to a musical theatre favorite. At the conclusion of the workshop, students will present their work in a “Shareformance”.

Summer Farm Camp

Registration is now open for youth summer programs at Newton Community Farm.

Summer Music Camp

Plugged In’s Music That Matters Summer Camp includes band class, songwriting, recording a song for a CD, music video, workshops, offsite events, and performance opportunities. Each session ends with a benefit concert that raises money for a charitable organization chosen by the students themselves. Plugged In provides a nurturing and supportive community to which young musicians feel a sense of belonging, an opportunity to express and be acknowledged for their musical interests and a chance to use their music to help others around the world.

Session I dates: July 6-17
Session II dates: July 20-31
Hours: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (extended hours available)
Registration ends when MTM reaches capacity (25 students per session) or on June 6th.

Summer Theatre Camp

Boston Patio Playhouse is now registering for its summer programs!

The Backyard Opera Summer Program is open to students ages 12 – 18 who love opera, operetta, and classic musical theater. The program runs weekdays July 6th – 17th, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

The Front Porch Players Musical Theater Summer Program is for students ages 12 – 16 who love classic and contemporary musical theater. The program runs weekdays, August 3rd – 14th,  9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

During each two-week program students will receive training in voice, dance, drama, and backstage skills, while working on either an Opera Gala or a Broadway Musical Revue performance! No auditions necessary, and each student will be cast as a soloist. Both programs are located in Coolidge Corner, Brookline. STEM Summer Camp

STEM Summer Camp, run by the Studio of Engaging Math in Brighton, offers four one-week summer sessions for kids 6 – 12 years old. Days are 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (extended day also available) and include daily playground time and weekly museum field trips. Activities include design challenges, construction sets, science experiments, strategy games, brain teasers, origami, 3D modeling software and introduction to programming.
