On-line registration for the 2012 Spring baseball season is open for boys and girls aged 4 to 12. The programs run from April through the middle of June. The programs run by NELL:

• T-BALL – kindergarten or entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2012;
• Farm Division – 1st and 2nd grade;
• College Division – 3rd-6th grade: This division is a developmental league;
• Cooperstown Division – 3th through 6th grade: This division is a more advanced league. Players who wish to play in the Cooperstown Division must attend the tryout. Little League age 12 players may play in this division by waiver only;
• Major League Division – 4th through 7th grade: Open to players who are aged 10 to 12. To be placed on a Major League team you must try out.

The registration fee for T-Ball and Farm League players is $130 and for College, Cooperstown and Major League players $155. If you have more than one child in NELL, you will receive a $30 fee reduction for each additional player. The registration deadline is March 31 for T-Ball and January 31 for all other leagues. Kindergarten Soccer is a fun and non-competitive soccer program for all Newton boys and girls of kindergarten age and has been a program of the Zervas Elementary PTO since 1993.  Games are held on Saturday mornings at Richardson Field in Waban.  Join us and meet other Kindergarten families in your neighborhood.  Late Registrations are accepted on a space available basis.

Newton Girls Softball registration is underway for the 2012 spring season. This is a recreational league for over 500 Newton girls in grades 1-10. Players of all skill levels will have a fun and rewarding experience. February 29, 2012 is the last date you can register with guaranteed placement.

The intra-mural season for kindergarten to grade 8 is from April 7 to June 9.

Kindergartners and 1st graders play games once per week. Grade 2-8 teams practise once per week and have weekly games.

The Boston College Women’s Soccer program will be holding 8 Junior Academy one-hour clinics for girls ages 9-12 on Sunday afternoons of January 8, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19, 26, and March 11. They will be held at the Bubble at either 12:00 or 1:15. It will be capped to the first 30 participants per time session. The coaches will be the BC Women’s Soccer coaching staff and players. This is an opportunity for the younger female soccer player to improve her comfort level on the ball, increase skill development, and have competitive fun. The BC Lady Eagles Soccer School will be holding their Winter Clinic for girls ages 6-14 during December 27-30, 12:00noon-5:00pm at the ‘Bubble’ at Alumni Stadium on the BC main campus. The Spring Youth Lacrosse Season, which begins in April, is NOW accepting registrations for :

1st – 2nd graders  = U-9 Learn to Play Level
3rd – 4th graders  = U-11 Level
5th – 6th graders  = U-13 Level
7th – 8th graders  = U-15 Level

Join the fastest game on two legs! Practices are 2 nights per week (either Mon & Wed or Tues & Thurs ) with a game on Sundays.  The season runs from April – June.

Registration fills quickly, so register now (and then forget about it until April!). With the growing popularity of this sport, there is tremendous interest in the Newton Lacrosse program. We expect teams to fill very quickly. DON’T BE LEFT OUT !!!!
