Dancers will learn the basic elements of Jazz Dance and Hip Hop set to today’s popular music. Along with dance technique instruction, they’ll be given the opportunity to creatively express themselves through open-ended movement. The class will include stretching exercises, progressions across the floor and sequences of age-appropriate choreography that will build week to week.

The Newton Mustangs Youth Football and Cheer is holding an information night on Friday April 5th at 7pm. Location is TBD and will be announced on the Mustangs’ website.

Registration for the spring kindergarten soccer season is open until March 22.
The program is open to all current Newton kindergartners, and all children who will enter kindergarten in Newton in the fall of 2013. We play on Saturday mornings at Richardson Field in Waban, starting April 6.
Since 1993, Kindergarten Soccer has been introducing children to soccer in a fun and non-competitive environment, where girls and boys develop friendships, learn teamwork, and gain confidence. Join us and meet other Newton families!

The Northeastern University soccer program offers a dynamic program of clinics and camps, which focuses on learning through fun games and small-sided play. Co-ed groups will experience our Future Huskies philosophy of promoting fundamental skills and sportsmanship. Upcoming programs include:

Pre-teen/Teen Yoga
Yoga is a great tool to help pre-teens and teenagers develop healthy relationships with their bodies, as well as to help them feel empowered to make good decisions and manage the stress in their busy lives. Yoga buillds strength, flexibility, and focus in the mind as well as the body.
Down Under Yoga’s Christyn Schroeder is teaching a yoga class for kids ages 10-16 in Waban Thursdays from 7:00-8:00 pm starting January 31. May start anytime, pro-rated for number of classes taken.
