A Thank you from Principal Harrison

Dear Parents and Guardians,

On behalf of the entire staff at Bigelow I want to thank you for the wonderful appreciation luncheon you served to us last Thursday, March 13.  Once again the weather was wintry, but the PTO was undaunted,  and your incredible generosity filled us with food and warmth for the rest of the day.  Our gratitude to everyone who helped with the delicious food and beverages, the beautiful table decorations, the set-up and clean-up, and all the details of pulling together this event.  And a special thanks to the coordinators, Maria Sullivan and Stacy Schwartz.

With appreciation,

Todd

Volunteer to lead SchoolKidz today!!

We will not be able to bring this program to the Bigelow Community if we can not find someone to lead the effort.

We are looking for someone to lead the SchoolKidz effort.  SchoolKidz is the program through Staples that allows parents to pre order school supplies.  School supplies are available for pick up the week before school starts and no trip to the store is required.  This is a great service for families and it benefits your children through the PTO.

What does the SchoolKidz leader need to do?  Coordinate the updating of supply lists with the school.  Oversee the ordering by parents in May / June.  Arrange a delivery day at the school in August.  Organize the boxes and add the “special” items into the orders after delivery (we will get a few helpers for you.)  Oversee distribution the morning of the Open House in August.  This program is all done on line.  We will help do all the advertising / PR.  And the past SchoolKidz leader is available to go over everything with you.

Interested??  We need your help!!  Please email bigelowbulldog@gmail.com

Exchange Oppurtunity

Dear Mr./Ms.,

Our 12 year old niece wants to come for 1 year to a Newton middle school and live with a local family during the next academic year or during the following year.  Alejandra is from Madrid, Spain, and she has a 10 year old younger sister. Her two parents, Alfredo and Teresa, will provide for all of her living expenses while in the US.

Alfredo and Teresa will be happy to welcome a US student for a year in their home in Madrid Spain, whenever would be convenient for the student.

They are both lawyers, he is working in a big consulting company in Madrid, she teaches dancing.

We are Beatriz and Matan, Alejandra´s aunt and uncle, and researchers at Harvard University.

We are looking for a local family interested in hosting Alejandra.

Please give me a call or send us an email if you are interested or curious.

Telephone: 617-794-7489  Email: mmayer@gsd.harvard.edu

Best regards,

Beatriz and Matan
