This Tuesday – Teacher Appreciation Tea
Tea for two and two for tea.
Actually, change that to 72.
This year’s annual staff appreciation event— a tea— will take place at Bigelow on Tuesday, June 2 at 2 pm.
We are looking for volunteers to provide finger sandwiches, cakes, pastries, fruit salad and any other delectables that go well with tea.
We also need volunteers to help set up and clean up. Set up is at 12:45 and clean up is at 3:30.
All items may be dropped off the morning of the tea in the teacher’s lunchroom or put in the refrigerator there. Please drop off items no later than 12:30pm. It is most helpful if items are brought in a disposable container.
To donate or volunteer please sign up here.
For more information or if you have any questions, please contact the Teacher Appreciation Chairs, Stacy Schwartz at staschwartz@gmail.com or Magda Duchnowska at froggiemagda@hotmail.com .
For Ward Parents / Alumni
Please join us for a reception honoring Mrs. Abramovitz, our Social Worker, who is retiring this year. Family members and students are encouraged to stop by to pass along their well wishes and sign a memory book for her.
Teacher Appreciation Tea — Tuesday, June 2
Our teachers and other staff members do so much for our kids throughout the year. They teach them invaluable skills, instill them with knowledge and a love of learning, and serve as intellectual role models.
So let’s say a proper thank you with a proper English tea — Bigelow-style. This year’s annual staff appreciation tea takes place on Tuesday, June 2 at 2:00 pm.
We are looking for volunteers to provide finger sandwiches, cakes, pastries, crumpets (whatever they are), fruit salad and any other delectables that go well with tea.

Very Warm Thanks for a Hot Night in Havana
¡ Ay dios mio! What a night it was! Saturday evening’s Hot Night in Havana was maravillosa. More than 130 parents, guardians, friends, Bigelow teachers and staff ate delectable Latin food, sipped mojitos, danced the salsa, bid on great items and most importantly, reconnected with old friends and met new ones. The event raised mucho dinero — close to $15,000— which will go towards curriculum-enriching programs such as the Creative Arts and Sciences, student scholarships, school grounds upkeep, classroom supplies, as well as gym and technology items not covered by the regular school budget.
