NEW intensive summer workshop in computer programming for middle schooler students

Bootstrap is a curriculum for programming in a dialect of Scheme, itself a version of LISP. This programming language is used for introductory computer science courses at MIT and Brown University.  Bootstrap is aimed at middle-school students with no prior programming experience.  The New England regional manager of Bootstrap has graciously agreed to run a Bootstrap workshop for our kids, and Newton Community Education has graciously agreed to host it.

The workshop will take place 9am-4 pm on August 19 through 23 at Newton North High School, The cost is $275.

I think this is a great opportunity, and I am writing in the hope your middle-school child might want to enroll, and can attend that week.
