Newton Youth Hockey’s Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey

Registration is still open in Newton Youth Hockey’s Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey programs.

Learn to Skate is designed for children aged 3.5 to 10 and runs for two consecutive 9 week sessions. The first session starts on November 16th.

The Learn to Play program is an introduction to hockey designed for boys and girls aged 4 through 11. Participants follow a progression of drills designed to teach them the core hockey skills of skating, stick handling, passing, and shooting. There is a strong emphasis on having fun, using a variety of games, challenges, and scrimmages as key components of the program. Participants skate twice per week for 16 weeks on Saturdays and Sundays. This program begins on November 9th.

Girls Lax Newton is a town lacrosse program open to girls in 5-8th grade living in or attending school in Newton.

The program is dedicated to empowering girls to be the best they can be with superior coaching that fosters a safe environment of individual growth at all skill levels where female athletes have fun and are competitive while learning the fundamentals of the game of lacrosse. Sign up for parent-teacher conferences

Registration for parent-teacher conferences begins this Friday. You may sign-up on-line for parent-teacher conferences beginning November8 at 8:00 am, and continuing until Monday, January 27, 11:00 pm.  Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis on the Virtual Paragon reservation system.

To schedule a conference with your child’s teachers or cluster, login to the Virtual Paragon website: https://www.virtualparagon.com/bigelow/conference/

You will then have to enter Bigelow’s master password before you enter the system. Call the School Office for more information: 617-559-6800.
