10th Anniversary Celebrations for Newton Community Preservation

The CPC will hold the first in of its Newton CPA 10th birthday parties, with a focus on Nonantum, Newton Corner, and Newtonville (Wards 1 & 2), on Tuesday, November 15, from 7 to 9 pm in the Newton North High School Film Lecture Hall. Refreshments provided! Come ask questions and share your ideas about the Community Preservation Act. Newton Girls Basketball Association (NGBA)

Registration is underway for the upcoming Newton Girls Basketball season.  Join the more than 500 players from second graders through high school level who play NGBA basketball.  This is a recreational basketball league for Newton girls and girls attending Newton schools with fun for beginners and experienced players alike!  Games are played on Saturdays for all grades, starting early December and continuing into mid-March.  Registrations are due by October 21st for Grades 3-8, November 2 for Grade 2, and November 30th for High School.  A late fee applies for registrations received after those dates.  Scholarships are available based on need; please see the website for details. A Grade 2 open house will be held on Sunday October 30 at Oak Hill Middle School from 1:00-2:30.  To register, obtain additional details and to find out more about the league, please visit our website at www.ngba.net.

Open House/Visiting Days and Parent Coffees

Tuesday, October 11 – Grade 8, 8:00-11:15 am
Wednesday, October 12 – Grade 6, 8:00-11:00 am
Thursday, October 13 – Grade 7, 8:00-11:00 am
This week classrooms in each grade will be open one morning for parents to visit.   There is coffee each morning in the library prior to the start of classes.  Please bring a copy of your child’s schedule so that you know which classrooms to visit, and please attend only the classrooms of the grade open on each designated day.
