Fall 2014 AAU Girls Basketball

Calling all Metro Boston area girl basketball players looking to play competitive basketball and improve their skills. Through hard work, education and fun, the AAU aims to foster a competitive attitude while inspiring young girls to love the sport in a respectful, safe and positive environment.

Tryouts will be held at the Jewish Community Center, 333 Nahanton St. Newton on Sunday, September 7th.

  • **ALL PLAYERS MUST BRING A BASKETBALL AND A COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE**
  • 3rd/4th Grade: 9:30 – 10:30 am
  • 5th/6th Grade: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
  • 7th/8th Grade: 1:00 – 2:30 pm

Boys & Girls Club Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament

The John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton’s Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament will be at Highfields Golf & Country Club in Grafton, on Friday, October 17th.

Players will enjoy a great day of golf, lunch, and an awards ceremony. There will be player prizes, raffles and more! This is a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.

High Holiday Services open to all and Hebrew School Open Enrollment

The Sunday School for Jewish Studies invites you to share in the tradition of observing the High Holy Days together at Newton South High School. Four Mothers – A unique course for Bat Mitzvah age

Four Mothers – A unique 6-session course for Bat Mitzvah age starts September 7th in Newton Center.  Includes 6 meetings (available in English or Hebrew),  the course is intended for Jewish girls ages 11-13  (up to 5 girls in each group).

Be a HERO and run, walk or volunteer for the West Suburban YMCA’s Angino Fall 5k!

Join the Y in your best HERO costume on Sunday, September 14th at 9:00 am. Cash awards will be given to the top male and female runners along with awards for the fastest family, fastest team, fastest runner in costume, fastest runner 12 & under, best overall costume, best group costume and hardest costume to run in!
