“The Pressured Child”

NNHS PTSO brings Dr. Michael Thompson to speak on “The Pressured Child”. The push for students to excel at school and get into the best colleges has never been more intense. Through his experience as a clinical psychologist, school consultant and speaker on the topics of children, schools and parenting, Dr. Thompson, co-author of Raising Cain, addresses America’s performance-driven obsession with the accomplishments of its kids – and provides a deeply humane response.

LEGO Art Exhibit Coming to Faneuil Hall Marketplace

The Art of the Brick, the self-proclaimed world’s largest display of LEGO art, is coming to Boston’s Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The exhibit will open October 2 and runs through early January.

Group rates are available for organizations who want to take a field trip (scout troops, after-school programs, etc). More information is available at the “Boston Bricks” website.

Suzuki Preschool Open House

The Suzuki Preschool of Newton will be hosting an open house. This event is free and open to the public. This a great opportunity to come and acquaint yourself with their integrated arts curriculum, meet the teachers and staff and receive a guided tour of the facility. The Suzuki Preschool offers Suzuki music daily by trained Suzuki musicians.
