It’s Time for the Newton Community Farm’s Annual Fall Festival!

Join us as we welcome you to enjoy your local farm, with an afternoon of fun activities. There will be music by Honky Tonk Masquerade, a sing-a-long led by Julia of Music Together, pumpkin decorating, and face painting. Your family can play corn hole together, or take a family photo at our fall-themed photo booth. Enjoy fresh produce cooked to order by Fresh City, apples from our own orchard, local grilled corn, and delicious treats provided by our community bakers. Enter our pie-baking contest for a chance to win a Whole Foods gift card (drop your pie off by 12:00), or buy a raffle ticket to get one of those gift cards. Babysitter needed

Newton Family Singers is looking for a babysitter to help during rehearsals this fall. They are an intergenerational chorus including children, adults, families and people of all ages. During the Sunday afternoon/evening rehearsals at the Waban Library, they need a babysitter to supervise choir member’s children during the adult-only portion of the rehearsal. The babysitter needs to be able to handle a relatively large group of children, ages 1.5 to 11, while parents are on the other side of the library, rehearsing with the other adults. Sessions begin on Sunday, September 20th and ends with their show on December 13th.

Special appearance of Wally the Green Monsyter

Program Seeking Volunteers

Newton Child Assault Prevention (CAP) Program Seeking Volunteers

Are you someone that believes that all children have the right to be “Safe, Strong and Free?” If so, then join the dynamic team of trained CAP volunteers who are committed to teaching children in the Newton Elementary Schools the skills that they would need to stand up for themselves if faced with a situation involving verbal, physical or sexual assault.

New location for Time for Partners

Time for Partners moves to the Auburndale Community Library this Fall

The morning Art & Music class for children ages 18 months to 4 years with an adult has a temporary home for the fall. Due to the construction of an elevator at Newton City Hall, the Mayor’s Office for Cultural Affairs is delighted to announce that the popular enrichment classes will take place at the Auburndale Community Library, 375 Auburn Street in Newton.

Join Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s 6th Annual HopeWalks on Sunday, October 4th at 9:00 am. HopeWalks is a 3.5 mile neighborhood walk, which brings together nearly 1,000 patients, families, and caregivers to raise money for the Vernon Cancer Center at NWH. They are excited to announce that Phil Lipof, WCVB TV 5 award winning anchor, will be this year’s event emcee!

Help spread hope by forming a team or walking as an individual by registering online at www.nwh.org/hopewalks . Your $30 registration fee will get you a t-shirt, fun prizes, pre-walk activities, and refreshments, all while supporting a great cause.

Dance Lessons

All That Jazz Dance Studio is still accepting registrations for the 2015-2016 school year. They are the proud winner of the Newton Tab Readers Choice Awards for Best Children’s Dance Studio in Newton since 2011 and specialize in building self-esteem and creating a warm, supportive and nurturing environment for all children as they learn the art of dance. The director, Miss Deb Lifson Vogel is a Newton native and currently has children in the Newton Public Schools.
