The West Suburban YMCA is inspiring kids to live up to their potential by being healthy, active and engaged! Join this FREE family event, featuring healthy games and activities including:

Never Worry Alone

Please join Newton Cares at their spring event, ‘Never Worry Alone’. Come listen to a panel of local mental health experts discuss the issues and challenges that can arise for our loved ones at any time across the lifespan. The emphasis will be placed on recognizing when and how to get help. Resource tables staffed by local mental health organizations will share information with attendees.

Get Started Coding

CodeCampKidz is offering 3+ hours of free coding instruction as part of a “Get Started Coding” initiative. Your students are cordially invited to participate.

These are online coding classes with live instructors that the students can attend when their schedules allow. It will take 2 – 3 sessions to complete the projects, learn how the internet works and develop their first basic pages with HTML & CSS. It’s a fun and achievable experience designed to get students interested in coding and build confidence at the same time. If they prefer they can just dive right in and start as a guest. No personal information is required to participate.

Newton Kids PMC Ride

The Newton Kids PMC Ride is back and better than ever! Get your bike ready to roll for this fantastic event. Rider and volunteer check-in begins at 8:00 am. Two-wheeled riders will zoom around a one-mile loop on Wells Avenue in Newton as many times as they can from 9:00 – 10:00 am. The 3-wheeled and balance bike crowd will tear it up on a separate tot course.

Be sure to stick around for the POST-RIDE PARTY starting at 10:00 am. There will be food, face painting, bike decorating, raffles, and more. This is a great way to get kids involved in raising money for an amazing cause. All proceeds go towards cancer research and patient support at the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber.
