Minding Your Mind and the Newton After School Association present the original movie documentary Angst, a film created to open up the conversation about anxiety and provide tools, resources and hope. Parent volunteers are needed to assist with Newton’s beloved Halloween Window Painting Contest. Volunteers will collect vendor/store release forms for a few hours during September and October, and also tape up banners on October 25th & 26th on store windows so students know where to paint.

On September 23rd, the Centre Street Food Pantry will participate in The Ride for Food. It is their biggest community fundraiser, and the money raised allows them to provide hundreds of families in Newton and surrounding communities with food and other basic necessities.

Basketball & Multi-Sports Clinic @ Williams Elementary School with Be Ahead of the Game.
This combined series of basketball and multi-sports clinics will introduce a variety of sports and the basic skills needed to play them along with an emphasis on basketball. Sports include soccer, floor hockey, dodgeball, volleyball, and other traditional and non-traditional games, in addition to basketball. Cooperation and teamwork will be the focus, rather than the competition of the games. Your child will learn proper warm-up games and stretching before introducing new sports, their rules and tactics. This is a great way to get in some late day exercise, have fun, and play many types of games, as well as get ready for the upcoming basketball season.
