Openings for September 2020 preschool

Newton South Preschool, a public preschool program, is currently accepting applications for September of 2020.

The preschool is a child development lab school and is part of the Family and Consumer Sciences Department at Newton South High School. In addition to providing high quality early education and care, the program serves as an internship site for high school students who are taking early childhood courses.

The program serves children 2.9-5 years old from 7:00 am-5:00 pm and follows the Newton Public Schools calendar. Full day and half day options are available.

The teachers hold M.Ed.’s in Early Childhood and are licensed by the MA Department of and Secondary Education. The program is accredited by NAEYC (the National Association for the Education of Young Children).

Newton Child Assault Prevention (CAP) Program Seeking Volunteers

Do you have two-three mornings a month free during the school year? Are you looking for a meaningful and fun way to make a difference in children’s lives? If so, then join this dynamic team of trained CAP volunteers who are committed to using guided discussions and role plays to teach elementary age children in the Newton Schools that they have the right to be Safe, Strong and Free with their friends and peers, when they meet adult strangers, and with those who are trusted to take care of them.

The program is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year. The next training begins on October 20th.
