Next Level Up Academic Coaching

School is in session. The first couple of weeks provides valuable insight as to how the year will progress for your child. Any academic concerns should be addressed as early as possible.

Next Level Up Academic Coaching is here to offer the support, guidance, and tools every student needs to succeed. They focus on the whole child, create individualized plans, and work in the comfort and convenience of your home. Many students need help with their organizational and time management skills, study habits, fundamentals, and perspective. The academic coaches at Next Level Up provide these important skills in addition to subject tutoring.

They’ve been working with Newton families since 2009 and have excellent references. Please contact  info@nextleveluptutoring.com or 781- 540-1123. To learn more, visit the website  www.nextleveluptutoring.com.

An Introduction to Think:Kids’ Collaborative Problem Solving Approach
Do you ever feel frustrated with your child? Find yourself shouting often and imposing punishments or rewards in reaction to challenging behavior? Do you wish you had a more effective parenting approach that also helps to build a better relationship between you and your child?

Think:Kids Collaborative Problem Solving approach, based in MGH’s Department of Psychiatry, provides parents with concrete tools to better understand and parent their kids in the face of day-to-day challenges – e.g., getting to school, homework, screen time, sibling relationships – and more serious challenges. It’s based on the understanding that many kids lack the skill, not the will, to behave well – specifically skills related to problem solving, flexibility and frustration tolerance.

The Think:Kids Collaborative Problem Solving Approach helps parents to:

  • Shift their thinking and approach to foster positive relationships with their child
  • Reduce their child’s challenging behavior
  • Solve problems collaboratively and proactively
  • Build their child’s skills in self-regulation, communication and problem-solving
