Empowerment Class for Girls

Artemis Girls – Stand Strong, Stand Tall is a new Girls Empowerment Program that guides girls ages 10-13 to seek their own true voice with yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, creative expression and self-reflection.

When girls feel confident about their bodies, their self-worth and their intelligence and they have practiced how to handle self-doubt and adolescent stresses, they have an opportunity to go into the world and fully express themselves — as girls, as women, as humans. Artemis Girls Stand Strong, Stand Tall creates a safe space for girls to build strength of body, mind and spirit while developing the skills of communication and self-respect to empower and inspire girls.

Classes include weekly yoga and mindfulness, group collaboration and games and independent thinking coupled with an art, journal or other creative activity centered on themes such as:
· Body Confidence and Self-Respect
· Stress & Self-Care
· Emotional Awareness
· Identity & Labels
· Honest, Healthy Friendships & Social Stamina

From the moment Debbie & Friends launch into their first song, “I’m Glad You’re Here,” the children sing, dance, jump and have fun with the band. From that high-energy opener to the ecstatic ending, the pacing of a Debbie and Friends show perfectly aligns with the attention spans of their young audience. They’ll rock out and get the kids dancing in a theatre-sized conga line, and then they’ll bring them down gently to relax and engage in more attentive ways. Debbie and Friends has been honored with 25 national awards including a 2011 Grammy Award. Winner of more than 20 National Awards including CBS Boston Best Local Children’s Musician!

Soccer for Moms

Soccer is great exercise, lots of fun, and not just for kids. This class is for moms who have been watching their kids play soccer and want in on the action themselves, or for any other grown-up girl who wants to play the game.

Thundercat Sports coaches will provide the equipment, officiate the games, and give pointers to help improve your skills. Players at all levels are welcome (even if you’re not a soccer mom); the goal is to give you a good workout, plus some soccer inside scoop so you can maximize your enjoyment while cheering from those sidelines. Warning: It’s not as easy as it looks!
