Mind Your Manners: Classes at The Etiquette Academy

The Etiquette Academy of New England will be offering winter etiquette classes for grades 2-12 in Newton Upper Falls at Chungdahm ReadWrite, 1254 Chestnut Street. Classes meet on Saturdays from Jan. 10 – March 14.

Improving social and communication skills, projecting confidence, combating shyness, strengthening self-esteem and leadership skills, navigating friendships, resolving conflict, understanding social cues, basic manners and table manners, and more.

Open House for JCC Summer Camps, Nov. 16

The JCC is hosting an open house for three of its summer camps: Grossman (day camp), Kingswood (overnight), and Kaleidoscope Creative Arts & Science Camp

West Side Story presented by Watertown Children’s Theatre

Join Watertown Children’s Theatre  as they delve into the classic musical, West Side Story. . Based on a Conception of JEROME ROBBINS, Book by ARTHUR LAURENTS, Music by LEONARD BERNSTEIN, Lyrics by STEPHEN SONDHEIM.

A cast of 6th-12th graders including Newton’s own Ariel Bavly, Leila Geller, Tessa Haining, Abigail Matthews, Myles Murphy, Eva Pearlman, Laila Plaster, Jacob Resnick, and Liam Walsh will sing, dance and perform their way through the struggles and triumphs of the Jets and the Sharks.

This production contains mature themes and staged violence that may not be suitable for younger children. Preschool Open House

Newton Family Singers Turns FIVE!

For five years, the Newton Family Singers has brought together family, community and music to entertain and delight audiences in the Greater Boston area. For this special anniversary show, they have chosen their favorite numbers from past seasons by artists such as Pete Seeger, Cat Stevens, Carole King, The Eagles, Sweet Honey in the Rock and others from the American folk tradition. You’ll hear the most crowd-pleasing, and heartfelt songs that will get you clapping, singing, dancing in the aisles, and will remind you of the joy of community singing, and our powerful musical history.
