Since 1999, NEWTON GIRLS LACROSSE (NGL) has been dedicated to providing Newton girls and their families a community based developmental lacrosse program.

NGL is the only Newton girls lacrosse program with opportunities for all Newton girls in grades 1-8 to play lacrosse. They encourage girls at all ages, regardless of experience, to join the program and learn lacrosse while meeting new friends, being active and competing.

The program delivers a fun, safe and inclusive youth sport environment that compliments the core values our families observe at home, at school, in the community and on the field.

Please visit the website at newtongirlslacrosse.com to register.

TEAMS
Last year the program was made up of 200 families with 250 girls rostered. The program offered 11 travel teams and 2 select teams in the Founders Girls Lacrosse League.

Practices and Games
All grade levels practice at Weeks Field in Newton Center on Mondays and Wednesdays starting in late March and ending in June. In addition, the program also uses both outdoor and indoor turf when the spring weather creates challenges.

Games are played on Sundays for all grade levels and Friday nights for the 5/6 and 7/8 select teams.

Newton Little League serves players who reside within or attend private or public schools within the boundaries of Ward, Underwood, Lincoln-Eliot, Horace Mann, Peirce, Cabot, Burr, Franklin, Williams elementary schools, and provides programs for players ages 4 through 12.

Programs for younger players are based on school grade, and teams are put together based on elementary school and friend requests: T-Ball (Pre-K), Rookie (Kindergarten), Farm (grade 1) and Single A (grade 2). In programs for older players, teams are put together with more of a focus on competitive balance: AA (grades 3-4), AAA (grades 4-6) and Majors (ages 10-12).

All players interested in playing in the 2019 AAA division must attend an evaluation session and complete registration prior to the evaluation date. The AAA evaluations will be held on January 19th. This event will also serve as the Majors Division makeup evaluation for players who were unable to attend tryouts in the fall.
