Newton parent will run the Marathon for Understanding Our Difference

Matt Stafford, Newton parent, is running the Boston Marathon to benefit Understanding Our Differences. Understanding Our Differences (UOD) is a model, interactive disability awareness curriculum that teaches children to “see the person and not the disability.” Since 1978, the program has been successfully disseminated to more than 200 schools nationwide.

The curriculum covers Blindness and Low Vision, Deafness and Hard of Hearing, Autism, Physical Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, and Chronic Medical Conditions such as Allergic Conditions, Asthma, Diabetes, and Epilepsy.

Also, there will be a charity auction event for UOD complete with wine, food and live music by Waban’s own Waiting for Neil, March 20th, 7:00 pm at Gregorian Rugs in Lower Falls. RSVP to matt.stafford@gmail.com .
