Outdoor theatre in Newton Highlands, June 21

Don’t miss the encore performance of the smash production of “The Imaginary Invalid,” a Moliere comedy performed by the Newton Theatre Company. Director Melissa Bernstein takes her Festival of the Arts theatre showpiece to the outdoor setting of the Hyde Center Bandstand in Newton Highlands on June 21 at 7pm.

Using a modern and hilarious translation, the Newton Theatre Company performs Moliere’s brilliant satire of the medical profession in a family-friendly production. Argan, the ultimate hypondriac, plots to marry his daughter Angelique off to an imbecile young doctor, ensuring a lifetime of medical care. Not to fear – saucy maid, Toinette is on to him, and zany antics ensue.

Bring picnics, blankets and enjoy the intermission entertainment by The Tripsters. Admission is free. Visit the Newton Theatre Company website for more information.
