Celebrity All-Bach Concert will benefit Food Pantries

A Celebrity All-Bach Concert to benefit Newton’s four food pantries will be held on Monday evening, December 21st. Music for Food is proud to partner with the Mayor’s Office for Cultural Affairs office and Newton Community Pride to present this exciting concert.

This concert unites outstanding musicians familiar to Boston-area audiences: Lucy Chapman (violin), Guy Fishman (cello), Kim Kashkashian (viola), Ian Watson (harpsichord), and James Winn (flute), along with friends joining in for part of the program as special guests. Curated by Lucy Chapman, this program will include the Trio Sonata from Bach’s Musical Offering, the G major viola da gamba sonata arranged for string trio, and Chapman’s own arrangement of the A minor solo violin sonata.

Music for Food is a musician-led initiative for local hunger relief that sets forth a model applicable in every community. Concerts raise resources and awareness in the fight against hunger, empowering all musicians who wish to use their artistry to further social justice.
