Upcoming teen workshops at the Newton Free Library

Make Your Own Comic Book Series: in this series of workshops learn about comic book drawing, story telling, structure, paneling and more! Each meeting will focus on a different part of the creative process, and by the end you’ll have a comic book of your own! This is a four-part series, please try to commit to coming to all four Wednesdays October 18th and 25th, November 1st and 8th. Register online. Grades 7-12.


Escape the Room: it’s Halloween Eve and you’ve been invited to a special dinner party at the Library with Dr. Neverdie. As you enter his private library with a group of your friends, the door squeaks closed and clicks. And with that you are locked in. Escape the library before Dr. Neverdie can begin his sinister experiments.

Register online for a time slot (4:00, 5:15, 6:30 or 7:45 pm). Up to eight people can register for each time. October 30th, 4:00 – 9:00 pm, 1st floor rear area. Please show up at least 5 minutes before.

Feel free to come hang anytime 4:00 – 9:00 pm, they’ll also be doing zombie makeup and playing Escape the Room board games and serving refreshments. Grades 7-12.
