Newton Cultural Festivals: Indian, Chinese, Latin

The Mayor’s Office for Cultural Affairs in Newton is hosting a series of Cultural Festivals.

The Indian Festival will be at the Newton Cultural Center on Saturday, November 10th from 10am – 5pm. It is going to be a wonderful event showcasing many of the tastes, music, dance, games and crafts of India. One of the elements is a fashion show. We are looking for Indian families who would be willing to show off the costume from their region. The fashion show will take place at 3pm. Please contact Jeannie Smith at 617-527-8283 if you would like to participate. We would be delighted to include you.

We have had a Russian Festival, we are in the early planning stages of a Chinese Festival for February 10 and a Latin Festival for March 23. We can plan these festivals more effectively with the help of families from these cultures and we would like to invite you to our planning meetings. Please join us at the Newton Cultural Center, 225 Nevada Street, Newtonville. The meeting for the Chinese Festival is October 16 at 7:45pm. The meeting for the Latin Festival is October 22 at 6:30pm. For more information, please contact jsmith@newtonma.gov or call 617-527-8283.
