Dr Michael Thompson – Thursday 3/8 – Newton South

The Newton Partnership is excited to sponsor Dr. Michael Thompson this coming Thursday, March 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Newton South auditorium.  This is a reminder as this presentation has been advertised in the community.

Here is our description of the event and a flyer is attached.  Hope you can join us.

Boys often frustrate and bewilder us.   It is difficult for parents occasionally not to wish, from time to time, that their sons behaved a bit more like their daughters. The Newton Partnership is excited to present Dr. Michael Thompson, internationally recognized psychologist, speaker and author. Dr. Thompson is known for his exciting speaking style and compelling advice.  Join us for this parenting workshop entitled and named after his book: IT’S A BOY!  Understanding Your Son’s Development From Birth to Age 18 on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Newton South Auditorium, 140 Brandeis Road 02459.  NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  This presentation is targeted for parents of K – 12 children.  Suggested donation:  $5 at the door.

This workshop offers participants the chance to talk just about boys:  their biology, their neurology and their psychology.  Dr. Thompson will introduce participants to the most recent research on boy development, starting from birth and continuing through adolescence.  Dr. Thompson is co-author of  Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys. He is the author of Speaking of Boys: Answers to the Most-Asked Questions about Raising Sons, and co-author of Best Friends/Worst Enemies: Understanding the Social Worlds of Children and Mom, They’re Teasing Me: Helping Your Child Solve Social Problems.  Dr. Thompson has appeared on The Today Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC 20/20, CBS 60 Minutes, The Early Show and Good Morning America.
